This is the basic bifold door style mechanisms that go with my Library beds. This mechanism also goes with all my bifold door style cabinets sold seperatly. You can bolt it to the floor or you can make a base out of 3/4 inch plywood and bolt it to that. I have done both successfully.The cabinet is fairly simple and just screws to the wall at the top. I offer several different plywood types but Birch is the most common.
The Murphy Bed Foundation is sold seperately in my store or buy 3/4 inch plywood from Home Depot and paint it white. The mattress lays on the foundation like a box spring.
Maximum thickness of Mattress is 9 inches, or we build the cabinet deeper.

This Murphy bed mechanism will provide decades of operation whether it is used in a commercial or residential surrounding. The mechanism is constructed of high quality steel produced to American Society for testing metals(ASTM) specification A-36.The bed is counterbalanced with extension springs of high tensile strength. 170 diameter wire. The assembly is attached to the floor with a 8, 2" lag screws, or 6 1 1/2 " expansion bolts depending on floor composition. The bed frame is attached to a pivot point to facilitate easy raising qand lowering of the wall bed mechanism. Two legs located at the foot of the frame are equipped with actuator arms which automatically store them when the bed is raised and lock them into a support position when the bed is lowered. Rubber shoes are mounted to the bottom of the legs to protect floors and carpet. The system is designed to hold 1000 lbs. A bed strap holds the mattress in place when the bed is raised in the vertical position. The Murphy Bed mechanism has a Lifetime Warranty.
