I am offering this 4 inch [planes out to 3 1/4 inch] Alder crown moulding on all my beds and cabinets. . As you can see in the picture it has a hinge on the ends to keep it straight and tight. I have to assemble this in the shop to insure a tight fit.I screw a 3/4 by 3/4 support to the moulding leaving a lip to go over the front of the cabinet. It is screwed to the moulding with 1 inch screws and thru the top down with 1 1/4 inch wood screws. This system works great and looks great on the beds.I also offer this in Birch, Cherry,Pine,Walnut,Ash,Oak. Prices and availability vary so call or write about other wood types. Alder seems to stain up to match Birch and Cherry plywood great. If you want a bed out of Oak I would suggest Oak mouldings.
